Athletic performance at high altitudes is limited due to diminished oxygen pressure and extreme temperatures.  It is not widely known that a top athlete is able to ventilate 160-190 litres of air per minute, even at 8000m altitude. Unfortunately it is practically impossible to humidify and heat the air with a strong wind and temperatures of -20/30° over many hours. Dehydration and the chilling and inflammation of the trachea and lungs are direct consequences of humidifying the air breathed and the loss of 3-4 litres of water a day.

The essential difference between the patent-pending 8000MASK and others on the market is that it draws on the body heat contained within the garments: It is able to recover the heat produced through exercise and convey warm, humid air to the respiratory tract.  A  one-way emission valve ensures that carbon dioxide does not remain in the system.

Lightweight, breathable Power Shield® and insulating Polartec® classic were chosen from the Polartec® range, while the revolutionary “trunk” of the mask is supported by a flexible 3D mesh structure to maintain its aperture. The mask shapes to the face, and weighs a mere 120 grams!
